she never learned to swim

i am    as all things    transit

i was becoming

and now am

what i was

has folded into abstracts

affinity unknown

i say to speak is false

better to take my acts

spread them on burning sand

amongst imprints

thin reminders of where i’ve been

till the force of your waves

cover my grain

lifting the hollow form

whitewashing it away

i am left one swimming in the sun

free and clear and new  again
