the sleepwalkers dream

witnessing

each cold mystery

rise and fall and fade

into the unseen

like frozen diamonds of time

from the sleepwalkers dream

,

morning gives to night

the songbirds melody

i listen to the movements outside my window

as they rise and fall and fade

an endless miracle

has produced another day

,

the ghosts

who haunt my memories

move…through (the space)

between rising or closing

my eyes

to escape

i awake

as my disturbed visitors

rise and fall and fade

,

they cannot stand in the light

they cannot bear the weight

their words are heavy

but they cannot speak

they are mists and rumors

of the former me

having ravaged that body

they now hunger for another slave

i cast them off

and release them to their chains

with ease i take a step towards

a promise made long before

the wind blew in this present storm

/

it is quiet now

like before

when the snowflakes fell

in a burdened rain

the ghosts are drown in the dawn

we all separate the same

with melancholy finally gone

i watch them drift away from form

as they

rise and fall and fade
